DISCOVER HISTORICAL SWORDSMANSHIP
Ever wanted to learn how to fence with a sword as people did in the Middle Ages and Renaissance?
At Historisch Schermgilde Limburg, you can experience it yourself in a relaxed, safe and friendly atmosphere. No prior experience is needed, we'll guide you step by step!
The first three trial classes are completely without obligation, giving you the chance to discover at your own pace whether historical fencing is right for you. Only afterwards do you decide whether you would like to join and continue training with us.
What to expect?
During a trial class, you simply take part in regular classes. We begin at a comfortable pace, explain everything clearly, and make sure you can train safely and confidently.
The session starts with a group warm-up, followed by technical practice and exercises with the sword. You will get to know the club and its atmosphere while training at your own level. And if time allows, there may also be an opportunity to spar towards the end of the session.
What to bring?
For a trial class, you will only need the following:

Indoor sports shoes (clean, non-marking)

Comfortable sportswear

Water or a sports drink

We also recommend wearing a groin protector (cup). This becomes mandatory once you become a member.
Training weapons and basic protective equipment are provided during trial classes.
